Post Ranch Inn is located 30 miles south of Carmel on a 98-acre estate in Big Sur perched 1,200 feet above the Pacific Ocean. It is an architectural tribute comprising Ocean, Coast, Mountain, Tree and Butterfly houses. This resort is environmentally sensitive and completely in keeping with its natural, tranquil setting. There are 30 luxury rooms which include king size beds, fireplaces, private decks, massage tables, spa baths, stereo systems and complimentary mini-bars. All of these first class amenities come with panoramic ocean or mountain views.


Sierra Mar Restaurant, a glass structure, features regional California cuisine complemented by a Wine Spectator award-winning list. The menu for the four-course prix fixe dinners changes nightly.

There is a heated swimming pool and a basking pool. Activities include nature hikes, massage, yoga, stargazing lectures and Saturday wine tasting.


Post Ranch Inn is designed as an adult environment. There is a 3-night minimum on the weekends. In order to secure your reservation, a deposit equivalent to the first night's accommodation and 10.5% room tax is required. If you need to cancel your reservation, you must do so at least 7 days in advance of your arrival.
