1. What does the Carmel Area Reservation Service do?
We search for availability that fits the criteria that you have provided us. We try to find you at least 3 choices. We talk to you about the choices we have found; and if you choose one, then we will reserve the room for you and email you a confirmation. This service is FREE.
2. Why should I use the Carmel Area Reservation Service?
You are too busy to call a dozen different places. You want to talk to someone who knows the properties. You want to take advantage of a service that is free.
3. Why can't I find availability at a Bed & Breakfast or a room with an ocean view for the weekend that I want to come to Carmel?
The Carmel Area is quite small and Bed & Breakfasts and the rooms with ocean views, Jacuzzi tubs, and/or fireplaces are booked several months in advance - particularly on weekends.
4. What price can I expect to pay for a room in the Carmel Area?
If you are interested in luxury properties, expect to pay at least $350 to $700 per night. If you are interested in deluxe properties, expect to pay between $200 and $350 per night depending on the number of people in your party. If you are looking for moderate rooms, expect to pay at least $150 per night. Rates are lower during the week or in the off-season.
5. How much can I expect to pay for a room with an ocean view, Jacuzzi tub and fireplace?
Rooms with these amenities will start at around $275 per night.
6. Why can't I get a room for Saturday night only?
There is such a large demand for the rooms in the Carmel Area that a 2-night minimum is required if you will be arriving on Friday or Saturday. If there is a major event in the area, the inn may have a three-night minimum.
7. Can you get me a tee time at Pebble Beach?
We can try to get a tee time at Pebble Beach only if you have a reservation at one of the Pebble Beach properties. We will be glad to help you with your reservation and your tee time.
8. Can you help me with my wedding?
Yes, we can help you find a venue for your wedding and also help you select places for your guests to stay. Wedding planning must be done several months up to a year in advance.
9. Can you help me find a place for our business meeting?
Yes, we can search for availability among all of the places that would suit your group's needs. We can give you information about the different places and why one would be superior to another.
10. How far are the San Francisco and San Jose Airports from Carmel?
San Francisco Airport is about a 2-1/2 hour drive from Carmel and the San Jose Airport is about a 1 1/2 hour drive from Carmel.
11. How far are Monterey, Carmel Valley and Big Sur from Carmel?
Monterey is about 6 miles from Carmel. If you are staying in Carmel Valley, you will be between 4 and 10 miles from the coast. Big Sur is 26 miles south of Carmel.
